Our Journey to a Greener K2019<\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

In October 2019 the Global Plastics Industry once again met in Dusseldorf, Germany for the K2019 exhibition. As you can imagine sustainability was high on the agenda for visitors, exhibitors & media.

Our theme for the show was SOFT <\/b>\/\/ SAFE <\/b>\/\/ SUSTAINABLE, <\/b>but it\u2019s so much more than a catchy slogan. We\u2019re excited to be part of a major shift in the way we view materials and we get a buzz from all things sustainable. We\u2019re about more than words and we know our actions speak louder, so here are a few ways we\u2019ve rethought, redesigned and reduced, ultimately contributing to a Greener K: <\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

Stand Construction<\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

RENEW <\/b>\/\/ Wherever we can, we\u2019ve used renewable or recycled materials: choosing wood over difficult-to-recycle materials and even table tops made from recycled yoghurt pots courtesy of Smile Plastics (smile-plastics.com<\/a>).
That\u2019s around 12,000 yoghurt pots rescued!<\/i><\/b><\/p>

RECYCLE <\/b>\/\/ Where it\u2019s not recycled, it\u2019s at least recyclable, such as our flooring.<\/p>

REUSE <\/b>\/\/ Many elements of the stand will be re-used at other exhibitions, after K we\u2019ll be back in Dusseldorf for the Compamed show.<\/p>

ENVIRONMENT \/\/ LED<\/b> bulbs are reducing our energy consumption, and you\u2019ll notice we\u2019ve brought the outside in, with plenty of mood-boosting, air-purifying plants on our stand.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

BIOBASED <\/b>\/\/ Our customers make some very cool stuff with our materials, including Emballator Lifestyle (emballatorlifestyle.se<\/a>). 71% of the materials used in our reusable bottle giveaways come from renewable sources, (and feature 2 of our products: Dryflex Green<\/a> & Lifocork <\/a>\ud83d\ude42<\/p>

REDUCE <\/b>\/\/ Less trees, more tablets. We\u2019re embracing digital, reducing both the amount of paper and the impact of transporting printed materials.<\/p>

CIRCULAR THINKING<\/b> \/\/ We\u2019ve got business cards and product postcards printed on paper made from t-shirt offcuts \u2013 the stuff that normally gets thrown away, while still totally recyclable. Saving Trees. OFFSET <\/b>\/\/ Our teams come from far and wide, where travel couldn\u2019t be avoided, we\u2019ve offset 16,000kg of CO2<\/i> with CHOOOSE\u00a0 – supporting UN-regulated projects. This equals 54 flights from Oslo to New York.<\/i> (chooose.today<\/a>)<\/p>

CARPOOL <\/b>\/\/ We\u2019ve hired a bus to take us to and from the Messe, so with around 20 team members, we\u2019re putting a lot fewer cars on the road.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t
