At this year\u2019s <\/span>Fakuma<\/span> exhibition<\/span> (Hall<\/span> B1-1115)<\/span>,<\/span> HEXPOL TPE will present a<\/span> further<\/span> expansion of their <\/span><\/span>Dryflex Circular <\/span>TPE<\/span><\/span><\/a> materials <\/span>containing<\/span> post<\/span>–<\/span>consumer and<\/span>\/or<\/span> post<\/span>–<\/span>industrial <\/span>recycled content.<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

New <\/span>TPE <\/span>materials<\/span> have been developed <\/span>with<\/span> higher <\/span>levels of <\/span>post<\/span>–<\/span>consumer <\/span>recyclate<\/span> (PCR) <\/span>content. TPEs with <\/span>20<\/span> to <\/span>75% <\/span>PCR content are available<\/span> in hardness range <\/span>4<\/span>0<\/span> to <\/span>9<\/span>5 Shore A<\/span>.<\/span> Various colour options are available, including<\/span> natural<\/span>.<\/span> Compared to <\/span>equivalent <\/span>virgin <\/span>TPE <\/span>grades<\/span>,<\/span> the<\/span>se<\/span> PCR grades <\/span>enable<\/span> a <\/span>p<\/span>roduct <\/span>c<\/span>arbon <\/span>f<\/span>ootprint <\/span>(<\/span>PCF) reduction <\/span>of <\/span>up to 35<\/span>%.<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

Also newly developed are TPEs with recycled content for multi-component applications. TPEs with 35-60% PCR\/PIR content that offer adhesion to PP, PA, PC, PC\/ABS and other thermoplastics are available. The TPEs<\/span> have been tested according to the VDI 2019 standard. For example, Dryflex PCR 68.01B270, which will be used for power tools, is a 68 Shore A TPE with 60% recyclate, it has fracture pattern D with 5.0 N\/mm in peel strength with PA 6.6 GF30.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

TPE with Recycled Content for Automotive <\/h3>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

HEXPOL TPE <\/span>supports<\/span> the automotive <\/span>value chain to increase the use of recycled<\/span> materials<\/span>. <\/span>New TPEs with up to 75% recycled content (PCR and PIR) are available for several applications<\/span>,<\/span> including <\/span>interior mats<\/span> and air deflector seals<\/span>.\u00a0<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

TPEs with 25 to 50% PCR sourced from within the automotive industry are available for exterior applications such as mud flaps and other soft trims. They comply with new targets proposed by the <\/span>European Commission as part of the End-of-Life Vehicles (ELV) Directive<\/span><\/a>. These TPEs are already in use with several European OEMs. They enable a product carbon footprint (PCF) reduction of around 25% compared to equivalent virgin TPE grades.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

\u00a0<\/span>TPEs for interior applications, with PCR\/PIR content up to 75%, have been tested to automotive standards for odour and emissions. For example, Dryflex PCR 853405 with 85 Shore A and 25% PCR content achieved 3.0 for odour (VDA 270, B3), 65 \u00b5g\/g for thermodesorption VOC (VDA 278) and 607 \u00b5g\/g for thermodesorption FOG (VDA 278).<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t
