HEXPOL TPE awarded ISCC PLUS certification in the UK

All of the HEXPOL TPE groups European companies are now ISCC PLUS certified (International Sustainability & Carbon Certification). The HEXPOL TPE UK site was recently awarded, expanding on the certifications in Sweden and Germany.

ISCC PLUS is a global certification scheme providing traceability along the supply chain. It guarantees the correct and transparent use of the mass balance approach. All companies along the supply chain undergo the ISCC PLUS audit process. Sustainability declarations create a chain of custody from origin through to the brand owner.

Mass balance allows for a gradual increase of the non-virgin fossil share of polymer compounds with the target to reduce the use of fossil raw materials step by step, without the need for investment in new equipment.

“I’m proud of the work done by our UK team to achieve ISCC PLUS certification. It is another example of us walking the talk. By adding mass balance to our portfolio of biobased and TPEs with mechanically recycled content, we’re giving our customers as many options as we can to transition from virgin fossil materials”.

This certification allows HEXPOL TPE to produce ISCC PLUS certified bio, circular and/or biocircular attributed TPE and TPV materials via the mass balance approach. Selected versions of the Dryflex TPE portfolio will be available. These new TPEs will offer a drop-in material alternative for customers. Importantly, for companies in highly regulated markets, the TPEs technical properties, chemical composition, and regulatory status will be the same as the corresponding fossil grade.

“I’m happy to see our UK site awarded ISCC PLUS certification, joining our Swedish and German companies. This means we can now supply customers with ISCC PLUS certified TPE materials from all of our European TPE companies. We are enabling the shift from virgin fossil resources and supporting the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions.”
