The Opportunity

Due to strong growth (and ambitious plans), we’re looking to add to our technical team for our HEXPOL TPE site in Broadview, Illinois USA.

This is a key leadership role within our R&D function, responsible for managing customer-focused technical projects, leading the local laboratory team, and driving innovation and continuous improvement at our Broadview site.

You’ll work closely with customers, sales, production, and quality to develop new materials, optimize formulations, and solve technical challenges. This is an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful impact in a growing, collaborative, and technology-driven organization.

Your Tasks

  • Lead and develop the local technical and laboratory team, fostering a high-performing and collaborative environment.
  • Manage local R&D resources including project priorities, budgets, and equipment.
  • Support customers and sales teams with product development, technical data, and troubleshooting.
  • Develop and test new formulations to meet performance, cost, and regulatory requirements.
  • Oversee product approvals, testing protocols, and specification management.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable regulatory, safety, and quality standards.
  • Collaborate with the global R&D organization to transfer technology and align local initiatives with group strategy.
  • Drive continuous improvement in product quality, process efficiency, and technical service.

What You'll Bring

  • Master’s degree in Polymer Chemistry or a related discipline.
  • 10+ years of experience in thermoplastic compounding or polymer manufacturing (TPE experience highly desirable).
  • Strong leadership and team development skills.
  • Excellent technical problem-solving and analytical abilities.
  • Effective communicator with the ability to engage both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Highly organized, with strong project management and prioritization skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and experience using ERP/MRP systems.
